We’re back at school for what appears will be a full week! Glad to have everyone back.
Due to the inclement weather last week, our 4th grade will be having our annual music performance this Wednesday March 6th at 7pm in the cafeteria. Students have been practicing and preparing the last few months for the upcoming concert. Students need to arrive at 6:45pm and head to their classroom. We will walk kiddos down to the performance. Feel free to grab a seat at 6:45pm and get ready for a wonderful show!
This week in writing students will be presenting their E-books to the class as well as watching the movie, Wonder. Over the last two months, our class has been reading the novel by Raquel J. Palacio. This wonderful novel teaches students about compassion & empathy. It is the fictional story of August Pullman, a 10-year-old with a very different-looking face—the result of a chromosomal abnormality and an illness—and his journey from the nest of homeschooling to the wilds of middle school. After we have viewed the film, we will be writing a comparison paragraph (the novel vs the film) practicing strong reasoning and elaboration. It will also be a topic discussed as part of our weekly class meetings. Please let me know if you do not want your kiddo to watch the film and I will have alternate activities ready.
Room 11 is quickly running out of snack. We typically only provide snack after first recess when we have donations. Thanks to the families who brought in snack at the beginning of the school year! Our class really appreciated it! If you are able to contribute, healthy snacks like crackers, fruit snacks, etc. would be much appreciated.
