The Value of Space Exploration

While this video is old, it does a pretty good job outlining some key facts relating to the value of space exploration.

What is space exploration doing for you?

Included at the link below is a NASA Symposium on the value of space exploration hosted by the National Geographic Society.

What is Astronomy?

I hope you are as excited for this experience as I am. Please keep on top of the reading and I will do what I can to make classes engaging and overflowing with learning and growth opportunities. I believe that astronomy is not only the search for what is out there, but the search for what is inside each and every one of us. I will leave you with the quote I put at the opening of our prologue and a video clip from the late, great astronomer Carl Sagan.

“People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances within our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.”
– Joseph Campbell from The Power of Myth
