Vox Novus has been invited back to perform for the Opening Day of Eugene’s Emerald’s Baseball! The game is at PK Park on Thursday, June 15th and starts at 7:05 pm. We will sing the Star Spangled Banner as well as O, Canada, as the opening series this year is versus Vancouver. The ensemble is very excited to represent Cascade, and to have this wonderful performing opportunity. Vox Novus students have received the ticket form below which is due by Friday, May 19th. Other music students are welcome to come as well; they may order group tickets with us or order their own from the Eugene Emerald’s website.
We’ve had a couple of exciting days here in the Cascade band and choir rooms! On Tuesday, 3/21 the Brass Quintet “Teen Angst” came to visit from the University of Oregon. These students performed for ours, and did a short clinic with our brass players in all three band classes.
Then this morning, Thursday 3/23, the award-winning TopNotchers choir from Willamette HS, under the direction of Ms. Katie Reuter, came to visit Vox Novus during rehearsal! They worked with us on the Star Spangled Banner, and both groups performed for each other. It was an inspiring, uplifting morning!
Thank you to everyone who came and supported the CMS band students at our Spring Concert! If you missed it, or would like to watch it again, here is a video recording! In other news… due to technical difficulties, the band concert was not recorded. Sorry! If anyone has a video they would be willing to let me upload, please let me know!
