Criteria: Seneca is providing students the opportunity to write an essay about the viability of natural resources and in turn, the student with the most outstanding essay will be awarded a $5,000 scholarship to a state college of their choice, in Oregon. The essay must be 5-10 pages long and be based on the question “What are the benefits of active forest management to the forest and to the community?”. You must also begin by holding three in-person interviews with people in your area who are connected to the Natural Resource Industry. For example: A surveyor, A log truck driver, a wildlife biologist, a forester, a sawmill worker, a wild lands firefighter, and/or a lawyer with relevance to forestry.
