Juniors: Spring is a great time to start thinking about touring College Campuses. Mrs. Cameron has 3 more College Campus Tours available. Feb 20th is the Mid-Willamette Valley Tours, March 20th is the Eugene area Tour, and March 22nd is the Bend area Tour. If you are unable to join Mrs. Cameron, here are some other options to consider:

Rites of Passage Summer Youth Academies

The Rites of Passage summer academies at Lane Community College are designed to inform and inspire high school and middle school students of color in Lane County. Students representing four racial/ethnic groups are immersed in their own respective Summer program focusing on their cultural history, literature, folklore, and traditions. These programs are based in an academic framework that promotes positive self-image and self-esteem. The four affinity-based programs include:

  • African American Rites of Passage
  • Asian and Pacific Islander American Rites of Passage
  • Bridge of the Gods
  • Puertas Abiertas Latino/Latina Rites of Passage.

Juniors & Others: Visit Some of Oregon’s Best Private Colleges This Summer

When: Every day beginning  Monday July 29 through Friday, August 2, 2019 at 9 am and 2 pm PST

Who: Current High School Juniors (but highly motivated 10th and 9th graders may attend, as well)
If you register in advance and visit 4+ campuses during this week, you will have NO application fee if you decided to apply for admissions to any of these participating schools! Plan ahead to make best use of your visit days.
Participating Oregon Colleges: Concordia, Corban, George Fox, Lewis & Clark, Linfield, Marylhurst, Northwest Christian University, Pacific University, Reed, University of Portland, Warner Pacific, and Willamette University.

Larry K. Sharpf Educational Scholarship (Regional)

What: $20,000 for 1 year! and Renewable up to 3 additional years
Who: Oregon Seniors from Marion, Benton, Linn or Lane Counties
Criteria: 2.5 or higher GPA, household income of $50,000 or less, enrolled full-time
Deadline: Turn applications in to Mrs. Cameron by April 1, 2019 (The scholarship committee would prefer that scholarships are submitted by Mrs. Cameron and not the individual students)

Eugene Marathon Scholarship (local)

The Eugene Marathon has established a scholarship program for graduating high school students in Lane County. In 2019, TWO (2) $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to students who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in the sport of cross country or track & field, in the classroom and in serving their community.

Who: Graduating Seniors that are Lane County residents and have participated in either Track/Cross Country in high school or in the Eugene Marathon during high school.

What: $1,500 scholarship

Deadline: February 28, 2019, Apply now
Scholarship winners will be contacted in early April and will be honored during the Eugene Marathon Weekend (April 26-28).

Requires 2 letters of recommendation and an essay. *The scholarship committee requests that the application is not started until both letters of recommendation and your essay are complete and ready for submission. They will not accept mailed or e-mailed items.
