Each year, Connected Lane County partners with the United Way and Early Learning Alliance to put on a program called BookFest. Ten lucky elementary schools are invited to participate each year, and this year Clear Lake is included! This means our K-2 students will each receive at least three books at the end of the school year.There are 10 titles to choose from and students are to pick their top five selections. Kids will receive at least 3 of their 5 selections. Here’s a Google Form for kids to enter their selections: https://forms.gle/GAVp9WUKyAEynv8W6.
I’d also encourage your to take a look at this annotated list to read a brief summary of each title along with information on reading levels and type of book that it is. There are quite a few easy picture books, but also some chapter books. This should help with picking appropriate titles.
