Spring Updates

Our Egg Drop project, organized by our Room Dad Shawn, went great! Many eggs made the drop from the top of the playground structure without breaking. A few broke which added to our excitement as we watched each project hit the ground.
We loved seeing the many creative ideas that were used for this project. No two crates were alike!

Friday Assembly at 1:00. Cursive Licenses will be handed out to those who have worked extremely hard to earn the points needed. There is still time for anyone who has not earned their license to get in the required assignments in before the end of the school year. After the assembly, we will be celebrating Earth Day by doing something to beautify Irving.

Meet Mrs. Sisco

I was raised in the Bethel School district and even went to Irving for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. My classrooms were in the round pods when the classrooms use to be divided by accordion
folding walls! My daughters even went to Irving.

I’m married with two daughters (one a recent grad from the U of O in accounting and now working in finance in Scottsdale, Az and the other a teacher who has taught in Seoul, South Korea and is now teaching 2nd grade  in Laveen, Az), 5 step children, and 6 grandchildren.

I have taught at Irving, Malabon, and Elmira Elementary. This is my 20th year right here at Irving. I love teaching and watching each student progress at their own pace and become life long learners!

In my free time I love to hike, swim, paddleboard, snow ski, read and travel.

I look forward to getting to know my students and their families!

Fieldtrip Coming

Third Grade is going on a fieldtrip to Dorris Ranch. Our class will be going on Tuesday,October 18, 2011.  Information will be coming home too. Your child needs to dress in layers (the morning is usually cold, wear a hood or hat if rainy), wear walking shoes (or boots if it is rainy), and bring a big lunch with no glass.

Welcome to Third Grade

Thank you for checking out my new site.

I will be adding posts at various times as another way to make contact with the families of Room 20.
