How to protect your child from hearing loss.

Any device that your child uses with headphones such as an mp3 player, gaming device, cell phone, laptop, may be a potential health threat – the risk of hearing loss from misuse of the technology.

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) recommends a few ways to protect your children’s hearing and your own.

  1. Keep the volume down. A good guide is half volume.
  2. Limit listening time. Give your hearing “quiet breaks.”
