Dear Parents and Families,

Our fourth grade year has been full of fun memories! We can’t believe we only have 4 more weeks of school and only 20 days left! We will miss this group of students immensely and we’re sad to think our last day of school is coming so soon! Yet, we are busy and still finishing the year out strong!

Fourth and fifth grade students will be performing in their music performance on Tuesday May 15th. The theme is “Tropical Beat.” The show begins at 7pm in the old gym/cafeteria. Students will arrive early and will come to their homeroom classrooms at 6:45. Thanks!

On Wednesday May 23rd students will be going on a field trip to the Aurora Colony inAurora,Oregon (nearPortland). Students will get to live like a “Pioneer” for the day making quilt squares, candles, bread, and learning how to work in the barn. This is an extremely fun field trip that ties right into ourOregon Trail unit. Look for a parent letter/chaperone request letter in the Tuesday Envelope.

We will be taking one more field trip this year to SPLASH during the last week of school. More details will come next week in the Tuesday envelope. We will also be having an end of the year pizza party on the same day.

As always, our website, http://blogs.bethel.k12.or.us/emoss-lcastillo , is updated weekly. Please feel free to check out the pictures and movies of our students learning in action!

Electronic/Board Game Party this Friday!

Electronic/Board Game Party

Friday, May 11th

Room 11 earned a classroom celebration! Over the last few weeks the students have demonstrated good behavior in and outside the classroom.

On Friday, May 11th from 9:45-10:15 our class will be having an electronics/board game party.  Students are allowed to bring in an electronic device of their choice (DS, Game Boy, iPod, etc). The games and or music must be appropriate and have a kid rating. Students who do not have an electronic device to bring in will have the opportunity to use one of our class laptops to play games on. Furthermore, if students do not want to play electronic games students are allowed to bring in a board/card game of their choice to play during the class celebration.

This will be a great way to celebrate our students’ accomplishments! If you have any questions or concerns please contact me! Have a great rest of the week!

Warmly,

Mrs. Moss & Mrs. Castillo

Dear Parents and Families,

We only have a few short weeks left of school! This year has moved so quickly, but we’re so excited to see how much each and every student has grown this year. We’re very proud of them all!

Fourth and fifth grade students will be performing in their music performance on Tuesday May 15th. The theme is “Tropical Beat.” The show begins at 7pm in the old gym/cafeteria. Students will arrive early and will come to their homeroom classrooms at 6:45. Thanks!

Students have worked very hard these last few weeks on the Oregon Trailunit. To celebrate them making it to the end and for learning so much in the process Room 11 will be having an Electronics Party on Friday May 11th at 9:45-10:15. A letter will go home tomorrow in the Tuesday Envelope with more details.

On Wednesday May 23rd students will be going on a field trip to the Aurora Colony in Aurora,Oregon (near Portland).
