We completed our first year in the robotics club. We will be expanding our club to include engineering. From September – December our project will be to build geared wind turbines so we can compete at the Kidwind challenge in 2016. Then in January we will move on to robotics. We have increased the number of robots to four so space will still be limited. We will meet once a week for an hour and a half. If you are interested please contact me as soon as school starts. Last year three Cascade students took 2nd place at the Kidwind regional finals in Portland. Their turbine beat out many high school turbines. We hope to go to Nationals this year in Washington D.C.
In Robotics, students learned how to build a basic model last year and how to program it to do multiple functions. We finished out the year by building a robotic arm. We will be working more on programming it for multiple functions next year.
