Every year, my class takes a trip to central Oregon for a field trip. We begin the day at Malabon Elementary at 5:45 – 6:00 in the morning and we return by 5:00 or 6:00 at night.
During the trip we make two stops at Salt Creek Falls. One on the way there and the other on the way back. We stop for a snack break, picture opportunities, bathroom breaks, and ultimately to integrate what the students have learned in the classroom to the environment itself.
We also venture to the High Desert Museum so that students can get a first hand look at what it was like for the Native Americans and pioneers who lived off the land in Oregon.
Finally, our adventure takes us to an abandoned lava tube where the class and I venture 1.5 miles underneath the ground for a fun loving, but safe journey together. 🙂
We are always looking for chaperones to help assist us with this, so please let me know if you’re interested. It’s gonna be a hoot of a good time!
