Reading

Please make sure that your child is reading for at least 30 minutes every day. This will considerably help in all areas of learning inside and outside the classroom.

Each week, the students and I read a specific story over the course of 4 to 5 days and then take a comprehension test based on the story.  I have been teaching students throughout the year to make sure that they answer the questions to the test  in a complete sentence.  If you have the time, have your child show you just what it takes to answer a question in a complete sentence.  This will not only help reinforce what your child has learned in the classroom, but it can also show you what they’ve learned and may even teach you a thing or two about writing in the process.  Kindly, Mr. D
