LCC Bound Students: Sign Up For Your NSAAS Starting Now!

If you are going to attend LCC next fall, you will need to take these steps:

1) Apply as a CREDIT student. Even if you already have an “L” number and College Now credit, you MUST be admitted as a CREDIT student. Mrs. W can help you do this. Apply for Admission here.

2) Take both the Math and Reading/Writing Placement Exams. We will offer these again after school on May 13, 2013  (sign up during the first week in May), but you might want to make an appointment for yourself at the LCC Main Campus Location, and take the tests out there sooner. Click HERE to sign up for Placement Exams at LCC.

3) Sign up for your New Student Academic Advising Session. These will take place on June 17th and 18th,  BUT YOU NEED TO SIGN UP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to attend the June sessions. Click HERE to sign up for your SOAR sessionScroll down and look for Step 4: Schedule a New Student Academic Advising Session

IMPORTANT: As a reminder, you must already have 1) applied for admission, 2) received your L number, and 3) completed Lane’s placement tests in reading, writing and math, before attending your Fall New Student Academic Advising Session June appointment.

If, for whatever reason, you cannot attend the June SOAR, another orientation, “Fall SOAR September,” will take place between Sept 4th to Sept 6th — but if you wait until September, your choices of classes will be much smaller, and you may not get the classes you want/need. ACT NOW!

File (and correct) Your FAFSA NOW!

You will want to file your FAFSA EVEN IF YOU DON’T THINK YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR FEDERAL GRANTS, because colleges and universities use this as a basis for scholarships and private grant funding.  If you already filed your FAFSA with estimated figures, remember to go back and make corrections with your family’s actual 2012 tax numbers.  It will only take about 1/2 hour to 45-minutes to complete your FAFSA application. It’s not hard or tricky… you just need to go through the steps!

Click HERE to start or correct your 2013-2014 FAFSA application.

If you would like, you and your family can make an appointment with Mrs. W and she will walk you through the steps.  File your FAFSA today!
