Required Planning Elements for Larger Projects

Start with the basic plot structure and character maps since these pieces will give you the framework that will help develop your script and storyboard. Scout your locations with an eye for details like natural lighting, outlets if you plan to use lights, proximity to classrooms for noise concerns, and any other logistical concerns. Plan your film to be 3-5 minutes long.

Plot – use template or talk to teacher about alternate forms

Character Map – map 3 details about each aspect of character (6)

Script – formatted correctly, the most detailed planning piece

Storyboard – visual guidance for actors, cameras, and others

Scouting Report – pics and descriptions for each location you want to use
