Salmon Watch Field Trip

The 6th grade science classes are currently learning about healthy watersheds, the salmon cycle and man’s impact on salmon migration.  We will take a field trip toWhittakerCreek, a tributary of the SiuslawRiver near Mapleton, to witness salmon spawning and to learn more from experts in the field of fish biology, forestry and hydrology.

Science Period 2: Monday, November 14, 8:30 am-2:00 pm

Science Period 3: Tuesday, November 15, 8:30 am-2:00 pm

This trip will not be cancelled due to the weather, so please make sure your child dresses appropriately for varying weather conditions.  Water proof shoes and rain gear are highly recommended.   Please pack a healthy lunch.

Parent and adult volunteers are crucial to this trip.  They are needed to help make this learning experience a positive and safe one.  Please consider being an adult helper on this great field trip.
