Well done everyone! The 6th graders worked really hard this term and learned a lot. Students are beginning their Science Inquiry work samples and we are gearing up for the Science Fair in March. Other highlights for 3rd Quarter will be the OBOB competition in February.
Make sure you check out our latest articles on favorite teachers at Meadow View School. Our 6th graders are putting the finishing touches on our 6th Grade News Blog that will focus on Feature Teachers, due out this Friday. Take a look!
That’s right! I have postponed the due date until after MLK Day. Please make sure you hand write or type your final drafts over the weekend to be turned in on Tuesday. Thanks!
The 6th graders will begin their mock battles tomorrow. We will focus on having the titles, authors and genres memorized. Study those OBOB lists!
Geo Bee tonight in the Caforium at 7pm!
Join us at 7pm this Thursday to cheer on our Geography savvy middle-schoolers!
No Homework for all classes today:)
We survived our first week back! I was delighted by how ready students were to start their hard work again and had a lot of fun seeing everyone and hearing their vacation stories. This week, math students will be taking the Bethel District Easy CBM math test.
Also, OBOB coaching has begun. OBOB team members are meeting on Fridays during their lunch to read and prepare for the upcoming battles in February.
Finally, thank you for all of the enthusiastic responses in regard to the UO Brain Bowl in May. Since we had such a large response, students will be taking a preliminary test to help us to decide on the 6th grade 6-person team. Natalie Oliver, a 7th grade teacher here at MV, will be administering this test sometime before January 25.
Welcome Back and Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a restful and peaceful Holiday:) Highlighted this week is the beginning of OBOB group meetings on Fridays, Science Inquiry and continuing with the Blog: 6th Grade News.
