Think Central is the gateway to Malabon’s language arts curriculum.  Here you will find access to the language arts textbook, grammar videos for homework help, reading test scores, and much more.  Every child will be given a login code and password so they can access these materials from home or school.

 

Oregon Battle of the Books Join the fun! Malabon students in grades 3-5 are invited to participate in the Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB). This is a statewide program for reading motivation and comprehension sponsored by the Oregon Association of School Libraries in conjunction with a Library Services and Technology Act grant. The goals are to encourage reading for enjoyment, broaden reading interests, increase reading comprehension, and promote cooperative learning. Read, Read Read.  Students have begun preparing for next year’s OBOB competition!  The books will eventually be in Malabon’s library too.   OBOB Book Lists  

Library cards are FREE to Eugene residents and the Bethel Branch located across from Big Lots makes it convenient to have books sent over at no charge from the main library.  Encourage your child to read!  It’s an essential lifeskill and a tool for life long learning.  Go to Eugene Public Library and How to get a FREE public library card.

 

 Become a Word Wizard.  This website is devoted to helping students  master unfamiliar words and it adapts to each person’s skill level.

 

This website makes grammar fun.  It offers personalized, adaptive, grammar, and writing practice that is generated according to each student’s interests.  Request the classroom code from Mrs. Haley.

 

Find great books at your reading level.   Lexile levels are linked to students’ scores on their state reading tests.  Using this number, students can  search for books that match their interests and their appropriate reading level at www.lexile.com.  Ask your teacher for your lexile number.
