EVERY WEEK- Expect to see your child studying:

Addition, Subtraction, and Multiplication math facts     Fun website for math fact practice
Spelling-new list each week.  (Spelling tests are on Fridays.)
Reading for pleasure 20-30 minutes daily and completing a weekly reading log.

Your child may also bring home work if they need more time to complete school assignments.

4 simple ways to ensure your child gets the most out of this school year:

1)-Help your child review or master math facts. Go to www.multiplication.com for online flashcards and games.
2)-Encourage them to read for pleasure at least 20- 30 minutes a day and record on their weekly reading log.
3)-Set a designated time and place for homework and look over it upon completion.
4)-Ensure your child gets plenty of sleep. 3rd graders typically need 9-11 hours of sleep to feel refreshed, alert, and ready to learn.  Check out this website for more on the sleep needs of you or your child:  http://www.helpguide.org/articles/sleep/how-much-sleep-do-you-need.htm
