The Lady Wolverines defeated South Eugene 39-38 in a thriller on Senior Night! Seniors Bailey Lincoln Bates and Bailey Baker could only hold their breath while teammate Jennifer Aguirre calmly sank her 2nd attempt with just 3.8 seconds left on the clock to give Willamette a one point lead.
South Eugene didn’t even get a shot off as the Lady Wolverines avenged an earlier defeat to the Lady Axe and placed themselves in the OSAA State Play-offs in the process. Willamette will likely be on the road, but will get an opportunity to play a game on Saturday, February 28th to earn a spot in the 1st round of the OSAA Playoffs.

Josh Wolfram has been named the new Head Football Coach at Willamette High School pending School Board Approval at Monday’s Bethel School Board Meeting!
With over 18 applications, the hiring and screening committee selected four (4) for the final interviews. Although the applicant pool was strong, Coach Wolfram emerged as the clear choice and the best fit for Willamette High School!
Coach Wolfram also teaches Physical Education at Willamette and is the Head Track Coach. Prior to his two years at Willamette, he taught and coached at Eagle Point High School for 7 years, and also coached at Southern Oregon University.

The Lady Wolverines will host South Eugene this Wednesday in their final regular season home game! Willamette is in need of a win in order to secure a playoff berth. It is also Senior Night in the Den on Wednesday, as Bailey Lincoln Bates and Bailey Baker will be honored prior to game time!
Game time is 7 pm – come out and help the Lady Wolverine PUSH for the Playoffs!
The Willamette Swim Team heads to Willamalane Pool (in Springfield) this weekend (Feb 13-14) for the Southwest Conference Swimming District Championships.
Swimming begins at 4 pm each day, and Admission will be charged for this event.

The Willamette Boys Basketball Team will host South Medford tonight in Southwest Conference League Play. Willamette is coming off a tough 1 point loss last Friday at North Medford, losing a close one 50-51.
Willamette Coach Chad Carpenter is optimistic with his young Wolverines (only two Seniors on this year’s squad) as they continue play better defense each time out.
Willamette’s Girls Basketball played Tuesday at South Medford so they have tonight off.
Willamette Boys Basketball will play at home on Friday, December 12 vs Marist HS at 7 pm (JV and Frosh play at 5:15).
The Lady Wolverines will travel to Marist on Thursday, December 11 for a non-league contest against the Spartans. JV2 play at 4 pm; JV at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:15.
Willamette Swim Team travels to Willamalane Pool in Springfield on Friday for a dual meet with the Millers. Competition begins at 4 pm.
Willamette Wrestling will be at Sheldon on Thursday, December 11 for a double dual with both Pleasant Hill (6 pm) and Sheldon (7 pm).

Winter Sports Season is upon us at Willamette High School and this week as we begin competition. Wednesday, December 3 our boys travel to Springfield High School for a non-league basketball game (game times 5:30, 5:30 and 7 pm). Girls travel to North Eugene on Thursday, December 4 for a non-league basketball game (JV and Varsity at 5:30 and 7 pm). Our Swimmers head to Willamalane Pool in Springfield on Friday for the Springfield Relays at 3 pm and finally Boys Basketball returns to Willamette for their home opener Friday against North Eugene High School – game times are 5:15, 5:15 and 7 pm which will be the home game times this year. Willamette will host our Winter Sport Night on Tuesday, November 25 at 6 pm in the Willamette High School Main Gym.
Ice cream is provided by the Bethel Booster Club and the Senior Party Parents will be on hand to display some of their Spirit Items.
Parents who attend can use their agenda as a discount coupon for 2 for 1 at any home contest or get $10 off a Winter Sport Family Pass, available at all home games.
Come out and meet with your child’s coach and enjoy some ice cream.
The Winter Sports Season begins today at Willamette High School (Monday, November 17).
Students must complete an Athletic Packet found in the main office and turn into the Library. No money will be collected at this time – just completed Athletic Packets.
Willamette is in the process of hiring a new bookkeeper, and therefore athletic fees will be assessed later in the season.
Winter Sports include Swimming, Wrestling, Boys and Girls Basketball and Dance Team! Cheer will also continue from the Fall Season.

Willamette earned the 6th place trophy at the OSAA 6A State Volleyball Tournament held at Liberty High School November 7-8, 2014.
Willamette Senior Alycia Wodke was selected to the 1st Team All Tournament team as Willamette lost to Clackamas HS on Friday to put them in the Consolation bracket. Willamette beat Southridge on Saturday morning and lost a tough 5-set match on Saturday afternoon to earn the 6th place trophy.
