The Willamette Football season came to a close at the hands of a very good Beaverton team on Friday night 30-56.
Willamette competed very well, and was tied 14-14 at the end of the first quarter. The Beaverton size and speed wore down the smaller Wolverines in the second half as they surged ahead in the 4th quarter. Willamette finished their season with a 5-5 record.
The Athletic Department needs the help of our Fall Sport Athletes as well as our Parent/Guardians of our Fall Sports Athletes in order to obtain valuable feedback on their experience this season.
By completing these anonymous surveys, the data is compiled and shared with our head coaches following the end of the season (after all Awards Nights and Playoff games have been completed).
This feedback is extremely valuable in assisting our programs to review current practices, target concerns, and plan for future improvements in order to be as effective and proactive as possible. However, we need your help to make this happen!

The Willamette Boys and Girls Soccer teams both got ousted from the 1st round of the OSAA Soccer Playoffs on Saturday – in very wet and blustery conditions. The Lady Wolverines lost 5-0 to 2nd ranked Tualatin while the boys lost 3-0 to 12th ranked Sunset of the Metro conference.
Willamette boys finished their season 8-5-2 while the girls ended their season 7-7-2.
Willamette lost the battle on Friday night to a very good Grants Pass team 35-7 on Senior Night at Wolverine Stadium.
However in spite of this loss, Willamette will travel to Beaverton High School next Friday, November 6 for a first round game in the OSAA 6A Football Playoffs.
This marks the first playoff game for our Football Program since 2007, and is a great step for first-year head coach Josh Wolfram. Disappointed that the Wolverines lost their final home game, he’s optimistic and excited to be extending the season for at least another week! “Maybe we can travel up there and catch them by surprise!”, says Wolfram about Willamette’s chances against the #2 team from the Metro Conference.
Game time will be 7 pm! Good Luck Wolverines!
The Girls Soccer team traveled to Gresham HS on Tuesday and with only 0.3 seconds left in regulation, Willamette Sophomore Ashley Guldager found the net to send the game into overtime!
After a scoreless first 10 minutes, Ashley again found the back of the net for the go-ahead and eventual winning goal for the pesky Wolverines! Willamette now travels to Tualatin on Saturday to play the Champions and #2 ranked team from the Three Rivers League. Game time is 1 pm at Tualatin High School.
Also on Saturday, the Willamette Boys Soccer team travels to Sunset HS for a 2:30 first round match-up with the #2 team from the Metro Conference (Willamette finished in 4th place in the SWC).
Water Polo Coach Matt Hauge is having quite a season! First, Coach Hauge was named Coach of the Year for his efforts in coaching the Willamette Girls Water Polo team (in just our first year of competition). The Willamette Girls will play in the District Tournament on Friday, November 6 at 10:20 am (vs TBA ). Although the girls have played for several years, this is the first year we’ve had enough to actually field a complete team – and they finished in 2nd place in their Division.
